How to cook Moqueca

Muqueca is Brazil’s favorite seafood dish, flavor rich and easy to make.
Ingredients:
  • 4 Tomatoes
  • 4 Onions
  • 2 Bell peppers
  • 1 Pound of fresh peeled shrimp or any fish fillet
  • 1/2 liter (1 pint) coconut milk
  • 1 Can of tomatoe paste
  • 2 Tbl spoons palm oil (optional)
  • 6 Garlic cloves
  • Cilantro leaves for decoration
  • Steamed rice

Step 1: Layer everything in a ceramic pot.
Step 2: Add enough water to almost cover everything
Step 3: Stick it in oven for half an hour, max temp, no lid on pot.
Step 4: Decorate, serve with steamed rice and manioc flour.

Best harmonized with: caipirinha or batita de coco.
Ideal opening appetizer: fried manioc sticks.
