How to cook Moqueca
Muqueca is Brazil’s favorite seafood dish, flavor rich and easy to make.
Ingredients:
- 4 Tomatoes
- 4 Onions
- 2 Bell peppers
- 1 Pound of fresh peeled shrimp or any fish fillet
- 1/2 liter (1 pint) coconut milk
- 1 Can of tomatoe paste
- 2 Tbl spoons palm oil (optional)
- 6 Garlic cloves
- Cilantro leaves for decoration
- Steamed rice
Step 1: Layer everything in a ceramic pot.
Step 2: Add enough water to almost cover everything
Step 3: Stick it in oven for half an hour, max temp, no lid on pot.
Step 4: Decorate, serve with steamed rice and manioc flour.
Best harmonized with: caipirinha or batita de coco.
Ideal opening appetizer: fried manioc sticks.
